The doors are set to close for a Jacksonville bank.

The Jacksonville branch of PNC Bank, located at 1342 South Main, will cease operation and consolidate with the Springfield branch on October 21st at 3 p.m.

PNC Bank spokesperson Fred Solomon explains why the local branch is shutting down.

“As part of our commitment to providing service as efficiently as possible, we constantly evaluate our branches to ensure they meet our customers need and how they want to bank. As with any business, we may learn that our facilities aren’t being used to their potential,” says Solomon.

According to the bank’s website, PNC Bank has been committed to providing clients with great service and powerful expertise for more than 160 years.
