Jacksonville aldermen will be voting on several police items during tonight’s City Council meeting.

The items include a resolution authorizing advertisements for bids for three SUV squad cars, and the authorization of a purchase of ten tasers. Aldermen are invited to view two Jacksonville Police Department patrol cars in the north parking lot prior to tonight’s meeting.

On the Parks and Lakes agenda, aldermen will vote on whether to waive bids and accept a proposal from a contractor to install ADA-compliant surfacing for the new playground equipment at Community Park.

Plus, aldermen will have a second reading on an ordinance authorizing the execution of a lease agreement with private camping clubs at Lake Jacksonville from this year to 2021.

The city clerk’s report includes a presentation by Chicago-based Elevate Energy regarding the local Ameren Illinois electricity grid.

Things get underway with the workshop at 6:30 at the Jacksonville Municipal Building.
