A Jacksonville man has received a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence for possession of methamphetamine.

Forty-three-year-old Kenneth Stephenson was sentenced in U.S. District court in East St. Louis on Wednesday to 30 months in prison for possession of the drug with intent to distribute, with credit for about a month’s worth of time served. Stephenson was also ordered to serve three years of Mandatory Supervised Release.

Court records indicate Stephenson pleaded guilty in September. He was pulled over in February in Venice, Illinois. Documents indicate Stephenson admitted to police that about 44 grams of meth belonged to him, and that he intended to distribute it.
