A teenager lost his life in a two-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 267 just south of South Jacksonville early Sunday morning.
According to a press release from the Morgan County Coroner’s Office, responders from South Jacksonville Police and Fire Departments, Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois State Police were called to Illinois 267 near the Interstate 72 interchange at approximately 1:30AM for a two vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger car.
The preliminary traffic investigation reveals that a car was southbound on Highway 267 when it struck a semi-truck turning north.
The driver of the car, 18-year Jaydon C. Gardner of Jacksonville, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
No further information is available. The crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the Morgan County Coroner’s Office.
