Montgomery County authorities have ruled that a teenager found dead in an I-55 gas station in Farmersville did not pass away under suspicious circumstances.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office ruled in a press release that 18-year old Josyln Malone of Louisville, Kentucky died from natural causes. According to family members online, Malone is said to have died from a pulmonary embolism. WICS Newschannel 20 reported on Friday, at approximately 11:25 a.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Telecommunications Division received a call reporting the discovery of an unresponsive female in the women’s bathroom by employees at the Phillips 66 on West Frontage Road, just off Interstate 55 in Farmersville.
Local Law Enforcement and EMS personnel responded to the scene and discovered Malone deceased. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police, and the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office conducted a death investigation. Yesterday, a forensic autopsy was conducted in Springfield. The investigation revealed no criminal activity contributed to Malone’s death.
According to a GoFundMe Page set up by family members, Malone gave birth to a baby girl approximately 1 month ago. According to Kentucky media sources, the child’s father, 21-year old Trent “T.J.” Taylor of Louisville, was shot and killed at his workplace, Shively Animal Hospital, just south of Louisville by a customer on May 14th after an altercation.
The GoFundMe Page has been set up to offset the costs of transporting Malone back to Louisville for funeral services and burial.
