A Ferguson, Missouri man is behind bars in connection with an alleged incident involving shots fired in Scott County.
Reports claim 38-year-old Robert Carter Jr. was arrested by Pike County deputies on Monday morning on Interstate 72, north of Manchester.
Local law enforcement booked Carter Jr. in Pike County jail for possession of ammunition by a felon, driving on a suspended license and unlawful display of registration. State police are currently investigating the alleged shots fired.
State police warn drivers to get off the road as soon as possible if they find themselves in a road rage or shooting incident.
Calls to the Illinois State Police for more details have not been returned.
