A stolen vehicle, believed to be used in an attempted burglary, was found in flames near Asbury Church Friday morning.
Details are limited, but the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department informed WLDS-WEAI News a caller notified law enforcement about the situation at around 6 a.m.
The caller stated a 2000 Chevy service truck was on fire in the 1000 block of Asbury Road in Jacksonville.
Reports from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Deparment state the truck was stolen Thursday night from a resident in the 1800 block of Midway Road. The alleged attempted burglary took place overnight along the Woodson-Franklin Road.
Murrayville-Woodson Fire Department responded to the blaze and reported the truck was completely destroyed by the fire.
Local law enforcement were unable to locate anyone connected to the car theft and do not have any suspects at this time
