Missouri Boy Dies After Falling Out of Moving UTV in Rural Rockbridge

A little boy is dead after he fell out of a UTV in rural Rockbridge Saturday night.

According to a report from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, just after 8PM on Saturday, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1100 block of SE 200 Street, just west of Rockbridge regarding a child who had fallen from a UTV that was in motion. Greenfield Fire Protection District EMS responded, as well as the Greene County Ambulance Service.

A 7-year old male child from O’Fallon, Missouri was transported from the scene to Boyd Memorial Hospital, in Carrollton, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Greene County Coroner’s Office. The driver of the UTV, a 31 year old from St. Louis, Missouri, who was the mother of the child was not injured. Also uninjured were additional passengers in the UTV, which were a 3-year old child and a 13-year old child.

Speed and Alcohol are not believed to be factors in the accident. The accident remains under investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Greene County Coroner’s Office.
