The annual Morgan County Health Department’s Flu Bowl is happening today and tomorrow at the JHS Bowl at 215 S. Church Street.

Immunizations will be available today, Thursday October 10th, from 1 to 6 pm and tomorrow, Friday October 11th, from from 9 am to 2 pm.

Quadrivalent shots and higher dosage shots will both be available this year. The higher dosage shots are available upon request for anyone 18 years of age or older this year, and as usual, flu shots for children will also be available.

Health Department officials say that most people will not have to pay for a shot, as most commercial insurance policies cover the shot and it is always a covered benefit for Medicare recipients and Illinois Medicaid recipients.

The Morgan County Health Department also has a program to help cover flu shots for those without health insurance.

If you do have to pay, the cost is $38.00 for the quadrivalent and $65.00 for the higher dose.

Again, the immunizations will be available today from 1 to 6 pm and tomorrow from from 9 am to 2 pm.
