Here’s a reminder on what Morgan County residents should know about paying their property taxes.
Morgan County Treasurer Jenny Geirnaeirt says property taxes were mailed out last Wednesday, with the first installment due July 5th and the second installment due September 6th.
Property taxes can be paid at almost any bank in Morgan County, by mail or at the County Treasurer’s Office in the courthouse.
Geirnaeirt says the option to pay online at morgancounty-il.com will be available soon.
Illinois Statutes require 1 ½ percent per month or part of the month penalty for payments made after the due dates. Additional costs may be incurred after the second installment due date.
