Oil pipeline gets Iowa approval

State regulators in Iowa have approved an oil pipeline carrying oil from North Dakota to Illinois, clearing the way for the structure to be built.

Multiple media reports indicate the approval Thursday by the Iowa Utilities Board was unanimous for the Dakota Access Pipeline, which will run through West Central Illinois, including Morgan and Scott Counties.

Regulators in Illinois, South Dakota and North Dakota have already approved the pipeline. It must still be approved by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers because the pipeline goes under the Missouri River twice in North Dakota.
