The Our Saviour Shamrocks are holding a 5K Fun Run and Walk next month to raise money for the school’s cross country and track teams.
Cross country coach Michelle Hoots says the team’s current uniforms are in bad shape and are falling apart. Hoots is aiming for 100-150 participants for the March 12th event, which will feature plenty of Shamrock themed activities.
“We are going to have the fun run, then we will have a cute little St. Patrick’s Day photo booth. We will be drawing for some other prizes throughout the event. We will be walking in the parade afterwards, so anyone who wants to join us can.”
Racers will start and finish in front of the Our Saviour Parish. Participants can register at 7 a.m. and the race starts at 8 a.m.
Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers for three age categories as well.
