Pleasant Hill Woman Charged With Arson

A Pleasant Hill woman has been arrested following a house fire in the village last week.

31 year old Amanda J. Johnson was arrested on a warrant for arson and was booked into the Pike County jail yesterday.

According to a press release from Pleasant Hill Police chief Zachary Orr, on September 11th at 6:17 pm, the Pleasant Hill Police Department, Pike County Sheriff;s Department and Pike County emergency Services were dispatched to a structure fire located at 814 S. Main St. in Pleasant Hill.

Before emergency personnel could arrive, a witness on the scene entered the home and carried Johnson out. Johnson was later transported to an area hospital.

The Pleasant Hill and Spring Creek Fire Protection Districts and the Pike County Ambulance service assisted with the incident.

Pike County officials and the State Fire Marshal Arson Investigators determined that Johnson set the home on fire intentionally.

Johnson is currently lodged at the jail.
