Illinois College is making employment cuts as a result of the state budget impasse.

The Jacksonville Journal-Courier reports IC will restructure or eliminate nine positions at the end of this school year, on May 31st, in order to provide funding for MAP grants for students.

Specifics on the changes have not yet been released.

According to the Journal-Courier, Illinois College is also offering a voluntary retirement program to 13 faculty and staff members who are 65 years old or older.
