Local residents will have an opportunity to get into the Halloween spirit in an old fashioned way tomorrow evening. Lovejoy Hall located at 520 West College Avenue will be hosting a public view of the 1925 silent film classic Phantom of the Opera starring Lon Chaney. The film will be accompanied in a traditional fashion with the in-house Allen Custom 4 Manual George Wright Theater Organ.
Midwest organ virtuoso Mark E Gifford will be at the keys for the event. Gifford has been featured throughout Illinois for several productions, including at the Hoagland Center For the Arts in Springfield and most recently in a trip to the Vatican in Italy. The film will begin at 7PM. A goodwill donation of $5 is suggested. Kids are free to attend.
