Stolen Motorcycle Leads to Meth, FOID violation arrest in Jacksonville

Jacksonville Police and Morgan County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a rural Jacksonville man after he stole a motorcycle in Franklin.

Jacksonville Police initiated a traffic stop on a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling westbound near the intersection of Hardin and East Morton Avenues at 10:31PM last night. Prior to the arrest, West Central Dispatch had received a call from a complainant in Franklin saying someone had stolen a motorcycle of similar description from their front yard in 200 block of Prairie Street in Franklin.

27 year old Jacob L. Zulauf of Mt. Zion Road in rural Jacksonville was arrested in the traffic stop and later cited for theft over $500, possession of methamphetamine less than 5 grams, illegal possession of ammunition without a valid FOID card, improper signaling, and violation of a Class 1 Division vehicle. He is currently being lodged at the Morgan County Jail without bond.
