The Art Association of Jacksonville is welcoming artist Charlotte Cziperle to The David Strawn Art Gallery for two weeks in September.

Beginning Saturday, September 10th, a gallery opening will take place between 6 and 8 p.m., with “Gallery Talk” by Cziperle at 6:30 p.m., according to a press release.

A native of Burr Ridge, Illinois, Cziperle’s exhibit, titled “Organic Spaces,” features oil, oil mixed with media and acrylic paintings. Each painting has its own unique color palette and difference in textures influenced by the changing seasons.

Cziperle’s abstract and representational paintings aim to capture the beauty of nature and the composition of the world around us. According to Cziperle, abstract art provides more freedom of expression and allows for the painting to be done intuitively by layering colors and adding texture as she goes.

The gallery is free and open to the public and runs from September 10-25th. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.
