Three Additional COVID Deaths Confirmed Wed in West Central Illinois

Three additional COVID deaths were announced in the listening area on Wednesday.

Morgan County Health officials confirmed the 63rd death in the county attributed to COVID-19. A male in his 80’s passed away in a long term health care facility Wednesday.

24 new cases were confirmed in Morgan County, bringing the total of active cases now to 311. Currently there are 16 Morgan County residents hospitalized with the virus, and 468 under quarantine.

The Cass County Health Department confirmed a 72 year old female passed Tuesday night in an area hospital. It is the 26th COVID relate death in Cass County.

26 new cases were confirmed in Cass County, all a result of community spread. Cass County currently has 250 active cases with four of those currently hospitalized.

The Greene County Health Department confirmed an additional death due to COVID-19, along with 11 newly confirmed cases of the virus. According to the health department, all 11 cases are community acquired. Greene now has a total of 119 active cases and 39 deaths attributed to the virus.

12 new cases were confirmed in Schuyler County bringing their total to 120 active.

Statewide the Illinois Department of Public Health reported 8,256 additional cases including 179 additional deaths.

The rolling seven day state wide positivity rate is now down to 9.6%
