Students from Triopia Grade School are hosting a 5K Color Run to raise money for the school’s outdated playground.
Jamie Hobrock is the coordinator of the My School Color Run program and says the May 21st event goes beyond traditional fundraising.
“It is something other than selling goods. It engages the student body and community in a fitness initiative. Throughout the course there will be colors sprayed on you. All the funds will be used to update our playground.”
Hobrock says resurfacing updates to the playground will run the school over $100,000.
Runners will start and finish at the Triopia School parking lot. Preregistration, which includes a t-shirt and color packet, costs $25. To sign up for the event, send an email to jhobrock@triopiacusd27.org
