A Winchester man is dead following injuries sustained in a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on Monday.
An Illinois State Police preliminary investigation indicates 43-year-old Troy Dolen was standing in front of the rear tire on a low boy heavy machinery flatbed trailer.
The truck was parked about a mile south of Mount Sterling on Brown County Road 675 East.
Dolen’s co-worker, 54-year-old Richard Boyd of Kansas, got into the truck and started pulling the vehicle forward.
Dolen was pulled underneath the rear tire of the trailer as it was moved forward.
Dolen was checked by Brown County medical personnel and transported to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield by Lifeteam Air Evac. He was pronounced dead Monday evening.
