Jacksonville Main Street’s Business of the Year was awarded to WLDS/WEAI last night.

That announcement was made during the non-profit organizations annual meeting at Hamilton’s.

General Manager Gary Scott thanked the members of Jacksonville Main Street for the distinguished honor.

“To say we were shocked by the honor is an understatement. We are very flattered and humbled, because we know there are many businesses in Jacksonville that are probably more deserving than us. We thank them for the support.”

“We’ve always thought of Jacksonville and have emphasized being local. I think this is maybe a tribute to our mission statement to serve the greater Jacksonville, the community of Jacksonville and Downtown Jacksonville.”

Jacksonville Main Street’s Volunteer of the Year went to Melissa Zoerner and the White Elephant was awarded to Deea and Sean Meek.

The night also featured a preview of the busy year ahead for Jacksonville Main Street, which includes the Downtown Celebration in May and the Levitt AMP Music Series in June.
