A Woodson man was listed in critical condition following a one-vehicle accident in Morgan County yesterday.

It happened at around 12:15 on Woodson-Franklin road, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

Twenty-one-year-old Nathanial Newingham was headed eastbound when deputies say he crossed railroad tracks, started to negotiate a curve, and went off the roadway to the right, through a fence and down an embankment, according to reports. Deputies say Newingham was then ejected.

He was taken to Passavant Area Hospital for treatment and was transferred in critical condition to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, according to Passavant officials. An updated condition wasn’t immediately available this morning.
