Progress is being made on the installation of a new playground toy in Jacksonville’s Community Park.

A concrete base was being completed this week, and that will be followed by the installation of a rubber pad when it arrives in two to three weeks, according to Jacksonville Director of Community Development and Recreational Facilities Kelly Hall.

The city recently removed the previous toy in the park due to age and safety concerns. This is the all-inclusive toy being jointly funded by the Elks Club and the City of Jacksonville.
