One person was arrested following a two-vehicle accident late Saturday night.
Police responded to a call of an accident at the intersection of Westgate Avenue and Westfair Drive at approximately 11:30 pm Saturday after a complainant advised he had just been in a hit and run accident.
Subsequent to an investigation, a vehicle driven by 51-year-old Christopher T. Johnson of Jacksonville was traveling westbound on Westfair through the intersection when a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Lynn M. Stover of Goodfield, Illinois was proceeding northbound on Westgate and failed to stop at the stop sign.
The passenger side of Stover’s vehicle hit the front side of Johson’s vehicle causing minor damage. No injures were reported in the accident. Stover was issued a citation for disobeying a stop sign and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. She has since posted bond and was released from the Morgan County Jail.
