Failure to follow probation orders has landed a Carrollton woman in prison.

50-year-old Lora Benson was given 7 years in prison for meth delivery, and five years for a look alike substance conviction by Judge Zachary Schmidt yesterday in Greene County Court.

Greene County state’s attorney Craig Grummel says Benson pleaded guilty in late April to the two counts, and was given probation.

But, Grummel says within days of the sentence, Benson failed to report to probation, and tested positive for meth and amphetamines. She was also charged and convicted in Jersey County for meth possession.

Grummel filed a petition to revoke her probation, and Judge Schmidt allowed it.

The Greene County sentence will be served the same time at the Jersey County sentence.

Grummel credited the South Central Illinois Drug Task Force for its work on the case.
