The Jacksonville school board will hold a public budget hearing tonight, prior to the regular meeting.
The public hearing is necessary because the increase in the tax levy is more than 5-percent.
The hearing starts at 6, and will include amended numbers.
School board members will get a look at the county sales tax trends, enrollment trends for the new year, lunch and breakfast prices for fiscal year 2027, and school student handbooks for each building.
The board will be asked to consider adding a head wrestling coach for girls, and an athletic director for Jacksonville middle school.
Board members will also vote on the new budget.
The meetings and public hearings will be back to back at the district board room on West State, staring at 6 PM.
