It’s summer, and blood supplies are running low.
It’s almost an annual event for ImpactLife. The group provides blood to hospitals like Jacksonville Memorial Hospital and others in this part of the state.
Kirby Winn is public relations manager for ImpactLife.
He says the former blood center organization sees this happening each year at this time.
He says people take vacations and get busy, and giving blood becomes more of an afterthought.
Winn says there is a need for all types of blood.
He says Type O is in great need, but he says all types of blood are needed.
Winn says through Sunday, ImpactLife will offer a $20 gift card or 1000 points in bonus value for whoe blood or double red cell donations.
There will be regular blood draw the next two Mondays at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital from 11 AM to 6 PM. Appointments can be made at bloodcenter.org.
