Jacksonville’s newest mural is in place just east of the Morgan County Courthouse.
The mural is the work of Scott Lindley of Mount Pulaski, and was funded with monies from The Illinois Arts Council, Healing Illinois and DOT Foods Foundation.
Jacksonville Main Street’s Judy Tighe says the mural captures the essence of the Underground railroad in Jacksonville.
Tighe says artist Scott Lindley was able to incorporate so many landmarks in and around Jacksonville.
The mural is on the west exterior wall of the Rammelkamp Law Office building, directly across South West Street from the courthouse.
