A Cass County man is headed to prison for nearly two decades after admitting to hijacking a vehicle on East Morton in March of last year.
36-year-old Gabriel Greer of Ashland pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular hijacking, and was given 20 years in prison yesterday in Morgan County court.
The incident occurred in the Aldi’s parking lot, where Greer forcibly took a woman’s vehicle, and fled.
He was later found in Springfield an hour and a half later.
Police say Greer used a knife in the robbery, and cut the woman’s hand.
Court records indicate Greer had previous convictions of arson, aggravated robbery, domestic violence and violating an order of protection in Macon, Christian, and Sangamon counties.
