The Jacksonville city council will be asked to approve employee contracts tonight.
Aldermen will be offered a resolution for a contract with the Laborers International Union that runs through December of 2030.
The groups include workers in the street department, sewer distribution, janitors, park employees, cemetery workers, golf course mechanics and city hall maintenance.
The council will also discuss a new contract between the city and GFL Environment waste haulers. This is for trash removal service in the city.
Aldermen are expected to take final action on a rezoning request would allow expansion of an electric contractor’s business on South Clay.
The agenda does not include action on the tabled rezoning for a new solar field along Black’s Lane.
Engineers from Benton and Associates will talk about updates for water and sewer operations for the city.
And, the council will witness a pinning ceremony for a new officer with the Jacksonville police department.
