South Jacksonville village board president Dick Samples likes the budget that was discussed last Thursday by the village board of trustees.
There was no vote taken. That will come at next month’s meeting.
But, Samples says he is comfortable with the spending plan.
He says department heads have been doing a good job holding the line on expenses. And, Samples says the village has a financial cushion in case of emergencies.
Samples and the board also looked at plans for village parks. The first up is the new one at Coronado and Orlando.
He says the project will be funded out of tourism grant monies, but probably won’t start until next spring.
The board is also ready to approved $75-hundred from tourism funds that will go to the Rotary Club Oktoberfest
