A Beardstown man is dead after his motorcycle was hit head on last weekend on Arenzville Road near Bethel Church Road.
Cass County authorities have identified the man as Marion Mathis.
Deputies say a southbound car driven by Luime Saintgiles of Beardstown crossed the centerline last Sunday and struck the northbound motorcycle driven by Mathis.
Saintgiles was also treated for injuries.
A preliminary investigation resulted in a ticket for Saintgilles for improper lane usage. More charges may be filed pending further investigation.
State police are assisting. Beardstown police and fire departments responded along with the Arenzville fire department.
