The 4th of July Fireworks at Nichols Park has been postponed until Friday, July 5th due to weather concerns.

WIT Semi-Final Game Carrollton vs Carlinville rescheduled to 10:00 Saturday.

The Rushville Industry HS Boys Basketball game at Beardstown today, Friday, January 12, has been postponed to tomorrow, Saturday, January 13 at 1:00 pm at Gard Elementary School.

Saturday’s girl’s wrestling tournament in Canton JHS was to participate in has been canceled.

Today’s Illinois College swim meet with Eastern Illinois University has been cancelled.

Western Illinois University campuses in Macomb and the Quad Cities will be closed for the weekend. Residence halls will remain open from 1-5 pm for students to check out.

All Culbertson Memorial Hospital Rural Health Clinics will be closing at 3 PM due to the weather.

Jacksonville Memorial Hospital’s drive-thru lab will be closed Monday & Tuesday due to the extreme cold. Lab services will still be available on the main floor of the hospital.

Crimestoppers Trivia Night Postponed

The Morgan-Scott-Cass Crime Stoppers Trivia Night scheduled for tonight at Bogart’s at 7PM has been postponed due to inclement weather.

The Trivia Night has been moved to Saturday, February 5th at 7PM at Bogarts.

Kampsville Ferry Closed

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Jan. 7 that the Kampsville Ferry is closed. The closure is due to significant ice buildup in the Illinois River. It will remain closed until enough ice melts to make crossing safe.
Please consider using the Joe Page Bridge in Hardin or the Brussels Ferry.

Icy Road Conditions Along I-72 Corridor

The Illinois Department of Transportation is showing that most of the I-72 corridor west of Springfield as having roads that are partly covered by ice & snow this evening. Route 24 from the Adams County line east into Brown, Schuyler, Mason, and Fulton counties show roads fully covered with ice and snow. Motorists are being advised to use caution and avoid travel if they can. Motorists can check Getting Around Illinois for the most updated winter weather conditions on Illinois highways. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the WLDS/WEAI listening area until 6AM Sunday, January 2. Snowfall is expected to reach 2 to 5 inches in total, with up to 0.20 inches of sleet and freezing rain. Precipitation will change to all snow tonight. Wind chills of 0 to 10 below zero are likely tonight into Sunday morning as the coldest air of the season so far arrives. Wind chills of 0 to 10 degrees below zero are possible through Monday morning.
