The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that Illinois Route 106 northwest of White Hall will be closed next week for a railroad crossing repair.
IDOT announced that rehabilitation of a crossing by Kansas City Southern Railway on Illinois 106 between West Roodhouse Road and NW 1175 Street between White Hall and Barrow will require a full closure, weather permitting on Wednesday, September 18th.
A posted detour will be in place to guide motorists around the closure, which is expected to last just one day.

Portion of West State St. in Jacksonville Closed
As part of the Downtown Turnaround, West State St. from Church St. to Dunlap Ct. is currently closed until further notice. Please plan your travel accordingly.
Portion of Walnut Street Closed Monday
Walnut Street from Diamond to King will be closed beginning Monday, July 15th. The Jacksonville Utilities Department will be repairing underground utilities in the area. The road will be closed to through traffic and detours will be in place until the work is completed.
Arnold Road closed through July
Arnold Road will be closed starting Wednesday, June, 19 for a bridge removal and replacement. The project is expected to last up to 6 weeks.
Phillips Ferry Road Closed Thursday
Scott County Highway will be closing Phillips Ferry Road, one half mile west of the intersection of Hoots Road, on Thursday May 30th for road repair.
Traffic Change West State & Webster Feb. 26
A manhole project beginning on Feb. 26 at the intersection of West State and Webster will cause traffic changes to the intersection for the week of Feb. 26 through Mar. 1. Southbound Webster will be open for through traffic only from Lafayette Ave. to West State West State Street will be closed at Webster.
IL-78 Resurfacing to Begin Monday
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that a 5-mile resurfacing and maintenance project on Illinois Route 78 in Morgan County, from the Cass County line south to Snake Creek, begins Monday, Feb. 19.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane at times and maintained using temporary signals, flaggers, cones and message boards. In addition to the resurfacing, other improvements include replacing guardrail, addressing drainage issues, shoulder maintenance, stabilizing retaining walls and tree removal. Benefits for the motorists include increasing ride comfort and extending the life of the road. This project is scheduled to be completed in mid-November.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
Scheduled Road Closure for North Main and Walnut St.
Due to the collapse of a storm sewer and manhole, the intersection of North Main
Street and Walnut Street will be closed beginning Monday February 5, 2024 at
7 a.m. through Monday February 12, 2024. This will allow our crews to work
safely to fill the void under the road as well as replace and repair the storm sewer
and manhole. Everyone will need to find an alternate route during this week.
Partial Closing Of Old Jacksonville Road Wednesday
One westbound lane of traffic on Old Jacksonville Road will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 29th between Wakefield Dr to South Koke Mill Road for utility pole replacement. The closure is expected to be in place until sometime that evening. Motorists are asked to plan an alternative route.
