Cancellations/Closures/Announcements for Feb. 12 Winter Weather

The Village of South Jacksonville has declared a snow emergency from 7 o’clock tomorrow morning to 7 o’clock Thursday morning. This emergency includes specific snow emergency routes on East and West Greenwood, East Vandalia, South Diamond, Lincoln, and Hardin Avenues. Residents are being told to not park on the streets on these routes.

The City of Beardstown is asking for similar measures, limiting street parking as much as possible from 5 pm Wednesday evening to 7AM Thursday. Snow emergency routes will be in effect and parking around the Beardstown city square is prohibited.

Pathway Services has announced that the Attic, Pathway Plaza, and its CDS program will be closed on Wednesday, February 12 due to inclement weather.

The Jacksonville Public Library event with Ellie Carlson on the history of Valentines scheduled for Wednesday, February 12 has been cancelled.

The 2025 Upper Mississippi, Illinois Missouri Rivers Association (UMIMRA)/Corn Belt Ports (CBP)/Mid-America Port Commission (MAPC) Annual Meeting that was scheduled for Feb. 12-13 in Burlington, IA has been cancelled due to the pending winter storm.

The monthly meeting for the Julian Wells Post 442, American Legion in Winchester scheduled for Feb. 12 has been cancelled. The post will meet on March 5th.

The Bob Freesen YMCA early workout class scheduled for 6:30AM on Feb. 12 has been cancelled.

Brown County Health Department is closed Wednesday, Feb. 12 due to inclement weather.

Elm City Center in Jacksonville is closed Wednesday, Feb. 12 due to inclement weather.
