A retired Jacksonville school superintendent pleaded not guilty to a child porn possession charge in Morgan County court yesterday.
88-year-old Robert Crowe of Justin Drive remains free on bond, after his initial arrest in April by state police for separate counts of dissemination and possession of child sexual abuse material.
Crowe has been formally charged with one count of child pornography possession, and pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Morgan County state’s attorney Gray Noll says Crowe waived his preliminary hearing yesterday, pleaded not guilty, and a pretrial date of August 18th was scheduled.
The sentencing range for the charge is anywhere from probation to up to 7 years in prison, plus a fine.
State police special agents say they started the investigation in October of last year, after learning Crowe was in possession of the material.
