Fire destroyed an empty rental house on Hardin Avenue overnight.
Firemen were called about 1 this morning to 847 Hardin. The house is owned by Joey and Leslie Dillard.
Captain Curt Reuter says the house was fully involved in the rear, and the fire quickly spread through the attic to the front of the home.
It’s his understanding that the renters were moving out. No one was in the home at the time and there were no injuries.
Reuter says the fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes.
Firemen waited at the scene for a state fire marshall investigator to arrive.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
