There is a roadway warning system now on what’s turned out to be a dangerous S curve on old route 67 in Greene County.
The S curve in Heinold Curve, and was the scene of a school bus accident earlier this year. The accident resulted in minor injuries.
It caught the attention of Greene County coroner Brady Milnes.
Milnes enlisted the help of a state lawmaker to get rumble strips on the roadway.
He says state senator Jil Tracy was able to convince the transportation department to install rumble strips on the approaches to the curve.
Milnes says this should only be a start.
He is still hopeful the county can convince the state to straighten out the highway and take away the dangerous curve.
Several others in the law enforcement community in Greene joined Milnes in pushing for a safer stretch of highway.
