A Jacksonville man has been arrested for a string of break ins, mostly at downtown businesses.
The arrest came about 11 last night.
The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Miles Pelehowski, who is listed as homeless.
He is being held on seven counts of burglary, and a single count of criminal damage to property.
Police received a report one week ago from a business in the 13-hundred block of West Walnut. Police then were called to investigate burglaries at businesses on North Main, Sandy, South Mauvaisterre, and West Morgan over the past week.
Police began investigating the break ins, and were able to identify a suspect based on witness help and video surveillance.
Officers located Pelehowski shortly after 7 last night, and brought him in for questioning. Through that questioning, police found he was also responsible for a break in on West State in January.
Pelehowski is awaiting a pre trial detention hearing.
Police urge anyone with information about any of the burglaries to contact Jacksonville police, or report it to Crimestoppers.
