The Jacksonville Kiwanis BBQ Braggin’ Rights will be held this weekend at the Morgan County fairgrounds.

The annual event is one of the top fundraisers for the club. All the proceeds go to Kiwanis charities with children in mind.

One of the chairpersons for the event, Krystal Bradley says the cooking is done Friday night into Saturday morning. She says the public is welcome to come at 12 noon.

It is $10 at the gate, and people can take the tour. Bradley asks people to vote for their favorites.

Bradley says there will be no bags of meat sold this year for carryout. People can buy food to eat on the grounds.

A part of the proceeds this year will be donated in honor of retired chef Randy Shearburn, and will be given to the Jacksonville High School football team.
