The Morgan County fair officially cuts its ribbon this morning.
The ribbon cutting ceremony is at 8:30 in the southeast corner of the fairgrounds.
The fair opens tonight with the talent contest at 5, and the Queen pageant at 7 at the Grandstand.
The outgoing queen is Bella Evans, the junior miss is Chloe Buhlig, and the outgoing princess is Tess Cully.
Grandstand entertainment this year is Ian Munsick and Corey Kent on Friday, and Cole Swindell and Sadie Bass on Saturday.
Fair board president Gary Hadden says tickets remain for the shows.
Hadden encourages people to come to the fair office to buy the tickets, saving costs associated with credit cards. And, he says the cost at the fair board office includes admission.
Hadden says it’s not easy signing new acts.
He says he had contracts out for acts for next year’s fair in February.
The big event tomorrow is the Salute the troops WW2 tank demo and fireworks display. Thursday it’s the Demolition Derby, and Sunday night the truck and tractor pulls.
Admission to the fair is $5 for those 6 and over, free for children under 6, and there is a $15 season pass.
