The Jacksonville city council will say good bye to one police department administrator, and welcome another tonight.
Deputy Chief Rodney Cox is stepping down, retiring after 30 years with the force. Chief of detectives Kyle Chumley will step in as deputy chief to Doug Thompson with the council’s blessing.
Aldermen will discuss new records management software needed for the Jacksonville fire department, and talk about grant opportunities for the department.
The council will decide if property at 1426 and 1428 West Lafayette should now include a special use permit. Anne Baker with Midwest Youth Services has made the request as the program attempts to expand to help with housing.
And, aldermen will decide if it will pursue an EPA loan for the water and sewer improvements in Jacksonville.
The meeting begins with a workshop session at 6, followed by the council meeting.
