A Sangamon County teen is in custody in Springfield after he was stabbed while threatening a a teen mother-to-be late last week.
18-year-old Marcello Scott of Springfield is being held for home invasion, aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery to a pregnant woman.
The Sangamon County sheriff’s office says deputies were called to an apartment complex on South Douglas in Springfield last Friday morning about 11:30.
Detectives determined Scott forced his way into the apartment and battered an 18 year old girl, who was seven months pregnant.
Detectives says the mother to be used a small kitchen knife to defend herself, and a can of bear spray.
Her 17 year old sister confirmed the story to authorities.
Scott suffered a non life threatening injury to his chest, and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The incident stemmed from an ongoing domestic dispute between the pregnant woman and Scott.
