A local man is headed back behind bars after he was sentenced to prison yesterday in Morgan County Court.
44-year-old Jimmie White of the 600 block of North West was sentenced to 14 years in prison for residential burglary.
White admitted to breaking into a woman’s home on East Douglas, and taking several items from her home in mid December last year.
White was also fined $500.
Court documents indicated White has had 17 previous burglary convictions.
In other court news, 32-year-old Lucas Dunmire of Meredosia admitted to a charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and was given 2 years in prison.
A second count of possession of a stolen gun was dropped. Documents also indicated Dunmire did not have a firearm ID card.
Dunmire was arrested in April for having a stolen Glock handgun.
Dunmire was also fined $500.
An out of state man was given a prison sentence in Morgan County court yesterday on a drug charge.
43-year-old Jose Cereceres of Leming, New Mexico was arrested in July of last year, after a traffic stop on the interstate.
Cereceres admitted to possession of a controlled substance, and was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
A second count of possession with intent to deliver was dismissed.
Police found what turned out to be cocaine with Cereceres in the traffic stop.
He was also fined $500.
