Illinois College is losing its head men’s basketball coach.
Steve Schweer has agreed to become head coach for the men’s team at the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosk.
Schweer has served as head coach for the IC men since 2019.
He becomes the 16th head coach at Oshkosh in the school’s 127 year history. He takes over for Matt Lewis.
IC went 114 and 79 under Schweer’s tutelage. The Blueboys won the first two Midwest Conference regular season titles in 2023, and 24, set program records with 28 wins in 2024, and consecutive wins in that season with 16.
The Blueboys also won its first ever NCAA Division Three tournament game ever in 2024, defeating the University of Dubuque. IC would lose the next game, narrowly to Wash U 68-67.
