The South Jacksonville village board approved a new budget last night.
Village president Dick Samples says the budget stretches from May 1st through April 30th next year.
Samples says the budget has been adjusted upward.
He says the budget runs about 3-percent higher than a year ago, and he praised department heads for holding the line.
Samples says the quickbook set up will be a better budget tool.
Christina Butler resigned last night as trustee.
Christina Butler turned in her resignation last night, effective August 1st. She says a promotion in her job prevents her from making the commitment to the village board that comes with being a trustee.
